The Effect + Fake The Attack + Lit Like Vegas + The Risin’ Tides

The Effect

The Swansea four piece ‘The Effect’ have been combining a love of Experimental Post Rock and Indie/alternative Pop since the summer of 2009, creating a unique mix of reverberated guitars and melodic choruses that have seen them share the same stage with established acts such as Canterbury, Straight Lines, Francesqa, Proxies, People in Planes, Attack! Attack!, The Last Republic and many more in and around the South Wales area and further afield. Their successful First EP ‘Everything Has Gone’ including ‘Plastic Hearts’ and the anthemic ‘Everything Has Gone (Wake Up) was released in 2011. With the hooks that compel you to sing along ‘The Effect’ found themselves gaining airplay on Bethan Elfyns and Jen Long’s BBC Introducing Show.

2012 was an amazing year for the quartet, with the release of their second EP ‘Lioness’ in June featuring the singles ‘Lights’ and ‘True Colours’, saw the band tour the UK and a sold out album release show in Swansea. With the release of their single and video ‘Better Off Forgotten’ in early October ‘The Effect’ toured the UK once again.

2013 has been no exception so far, The Effect toured the UK once again and are back with their thumping new single ‘Alive Again’ which was released February 25th. They recently also landed themselves as ‘Kerrang’s’ Local Heroes and have previously appeared in ‘Front Magazine’. With big plans in place for the rest of 2013, and with a remastered rerelease of ‘Lioness’, The Effect hit the road again in June for their biggest tour to date yet.

The Risin’ Tides

Risin’ Tides have that classic tight traditional Rock sound straight from your dad’s old vinyl. Pounding groove beats, monster riffs, far reaching vocals, thumping basslines and a keen feel for a strong melody make this band a power house whose reputation is always cemented when seen live.

Exploding into Manchester for the first time, the boys claim we’ve all been “waiting for a band brave enough to play the simple verse chorus solo type rock formula that we all know and love”. They hope that you’ll join them in their fight against “androgenated generic music”!
